PINC Showcase of Print/Design Excellence

19 05 2009

At this year’s Showcase of Print/Design Excellence APD picked up two gold awards and one silver. Passes made for Phish’s quick stint earlier this year at The Hampton Coliseum took home the best of category. The award show was held May 1st, at the Hilton SF Union Square, needless to say I stuck out like a sore thumb. See below as I receive the best of category award in front of millions of screaming fans.
Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Access Pass & Design Sales Exe. Carl Elizondo Reaches new musical heights

12 05 2009

cdcover-1-11.jpgSales Executive Carl Elizondo has taken his musical career to a new level submitting one of his original penned songs “The Madness Of Enchantment” to American Idol in hopes of being picked for the finale’ closing tune, to be sung by the winner of this years contest. Treading familiar ground, Carl has honed his musical skills for some time now, weaving his “Brit-Pop” style of songs into todays musical landscape. His sophomore release “The Tomes Of Lore” gets regular airplay on Pandora Internet Radio alongside his debut cd “The Crystal & The Cross”. As mentioned in the Pens Eye View article (issue Feb 6,08)    ( http://penseyeview.wordpress.com/2008/02/06/todays-feature-february-5-6-carl-elizondo/  )   Carl walks that fine line between Oasis and the Beatles with Carls spin on it. Next up on the burner for Carl is his third release, “Pieces of Eight” & still keeping that mod sound alive! Carl Elizondo’s music can be found on iTune and CDbaby.com or many on line stores. Baking under a Coachella sun!

29 04 2009

100_02106.JPGIf someone tells you its hot in hell, they obviously have never been to Coachella! and I’m not talking about the stellar talent they had booked, it must have been 102 degrees in the shade. But speaking of the talent, it was nice to step off of a plane, drive in a nice rental car and end up having “We are scientists ” for lunch! awesome band followed by The Airbourne Toxic Event!  there was so much talent there it made even I, a well seasoned musician long to be back up on the stage again! Other highlights were clients The Crystal Method, and Dr.Dogg. Through the entire weekend of TV On The Radio, Morrissey and Franz Ferdinand and many other bands, nothing made me feel like little kid on Christmas Eve more than waiting for Macca! Paul McCartney, he actually took time from earning his billions to play a 2 1/2 hour set ranging from early Beatles to solo work, to his latest Fireman outing, awesome as it was I was stunned as to how the crowd reacted, young and old, everyone really gave Macca a warm reception and he felt it, so much so,  he played 50 minutes past curfew (at $1000.00 a minute fine) not bad for a sixty something year old geezer ! Lotsa sun,  lotsa Heinikens, lotsa friends but most of all lotsa McCartney! Very cool— In a bit, Carl

Carl Elizondo feels the magic backstage at Britney Spears

27 04 2009

Britney Spears in Los Angeles at the Honda Center, Sunday night in Anahein was indeed “magical” as Britney unleashed her Circus themed  show complete with clowns, jugglers and magic acts with Ms. Spears at the center of the big top arena.  Sunday Night, as Britney decended from the Heavens, she proved that after her tumultuous run in with hair cutting scissors and the paparazzi, that she has her sh*t  together and can once again command the stage. For all she’s been through, she remains a professional and it showed. The crowd, consisting mostly of young women, pre-teens and boyfriends being dragged by their starstruck girlfriends were on their feet for most of the show screaming at decibles only known to flying bats. If Britney can keep her Big Top Circus tour on the sanity tracks, she just may turn in one of the biggest tours this year!TBritney Spears decends from the Heavenshe highlight of my evening was hanging with my client,  Tour manager DJ Walton ( Britney Spears, Alicia Keys) and getting to catch up on the latest touring news……Carl-Â
