International Sports Hall of Fame Gala

Friday, January 6th, was an incredible night for Reno Tahoe.

14 olympians were honored and “7 of the regions finest in competitive sport” were inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. Included on the list were Tamara McKinney who “competed for the U.S. for 14 years on the World Cup circuit and in three Olympic Games”, the late Alex Cushing, the founder of Squaw Valley Ski Corporation and instrumental in bringing the Winter Games to Squaw Valley in 1960, and the late Shane McConkey, a competitive ski race and world-famous extreme skier who contributed greatly to current ski design and construction.

The gala was emceed by none other than Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley, who won at Nagano in 1998 and went on to earn silver in the X-Games in 1999.

The gala was organized by the Reno-Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, a group of motivated business owners, political leaders, and public figures who are dedicated to bringing the 2022 Winter Olympics to the Reno Tahoe area.

Access Pass & Design is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition and is looking forward to exciting opportunities for the Reno Tahoe!

FISH Partnership

Access Pass & Design is proud to announce our strategic partnership with FISH Technologies. FISH leads the industry by making data retrieval systems for events. They use wireless RFID chips, integrated with our credentials, to track the ways that event attendees interact and participate.

Remember when Kyle and Cecil ran the Tough Mudder: NORCAL 2011? They wore RFID embedded credentials that interacted with Facebook and Twitter, signaling when they started the race, got shocked, and reached the finish line. The RFID chips were interacting with a FISH system installed throughout the race course.

FISH believes in creating systems that lead to “better experiences, better data.” When attendees share their experiences, the event becomes more personal and leads to a longer-lasting impression.

And the same FISH technology that allows attendees to interact online allows event organizers to “collect real-time actionable data… leveraged to strengthen brand relationships, drive return on investment, and understand the impact of experiential marketing.”

We couldn’t be more excited to work with FISH and expand the impact of your events.

Please give us a call if you’re interested in how to make this technology work for you.

New York: Billboard Awards and Watch the Throne

Seth travelled to New York City last week to represent Access Pass & Design at the Billboard Touring Conference & Awards. The awards program was held at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan and brought together top names from throughout the music and touring industries.

In recognition of their stellar touring year, Billboard honored Journey with Billboard’s 2011 Legend of Live award. Access Pass & Design was proud to be a part of their touring experience, providing the tour passes for Journey’s Eclipse tour this year.

Seth took the trip to the Big Apple as an opportunity to check in on some of our other clients, none other than Jay-Z and Kanye West! Seth caught the two in action as part of their Watch the Throne Tour at the famed Madison Square Garden.

Apparently Seth spotted both Beyonce (who was sitting right next to him) and Jake Gyllenhall at the show. Not sure who he was more excited to see.

Seth also caught Late Night with David Letterman and even sat at his famous desk. In all it was a fabulous trip and all of us at Access Pass & Design are looking forward to Billboard Touring Conference and Awards: 2012.

And congratulations to Journey and to Jay-Z and Kanye West. We’re honored to be working with all of you!

TopSpin – San Francisco

Last week Danny and I travelled to San Francisco for a relief from the wintry weather in Reno and to participate in TopSpin: San Francisco – “a charity ping pong tournament and fundraising event targeted at industry professionals and key influencers in the professional sports, entertainment, media and technology industries.” TopSpin started in New York and has grown, over the last three years, to host annual tournaments in four cities: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

In short, a bunch of industry representatives and sports stars played ping pong, bid on silent auctions, mingled, and raised money for three Bay Area charities: Breakthrough Collaborative, PREFund, and KIPP Bay Area Schools.

The event couldn’t have gone better. The venue was gorgeous, the food was fabulous, and the ping pong… ehem… “table tennis”… competition was fierce. I went 3 and 3 in my group, and Danny finished 2 and 5 in his. We were surprised it wasn’t the two of us at the final table – we’d squeezed in at least two solid practices back in Reno!

Despite our defeats, Danny and I made some great connections; we met representatives from the NFL, PGA Tour, VISA, and even an Australian lady who claimed to be responsible for bringing Movember to the states back in 2007. I didn’t know the mustache movement was originally from down under!

While neither Danny nor I made it to the final, we had a great night and found lots of opportunities for our credentials at various upcoming events, all while contributing to charities. The TopSpin organizers were especially kind – our thanks to them for hosting a fantastic event. We’ll definitely be back, and who knows – you might even see us in New York!

Reusable Case Labels

Today we’re taking a look at one of our especially practical, innovative products: reusable case labels.

DURABLE
Our reusable case labels are durable, attractive, and weatherproof. They can be fashioned in many shapes and sizes and stick firmly to the side of gear cases, boxes, and storage containers.

REWRITABLE
But above all, they’re REWRITABLE.

Write on them with a permanent sharpie – it won’t rub off.

Then erase them with an alcohol pad.

Unlike other labels you have to throw away, you can reuse these for years.

Whether you’re moving your band, your team, or organizing your business, our labels are a sure way to keep things organized.

BEAUTIFUL
And because they’re from Access Pass & Design, we put extra care into designing them to match your brand.

Full color, customizable. We’ll work with you to include the fields you need to keep the information that’s important to you.

TECHNOLOGICAL
You can even take organization to the next level by adding barcodes.

Each label can be assigned an individual barcode, which you can then scan in and out to be sure your have all your gear.

PEDIGREE

We’ve made case labels for major bands like Linkin Park, Ray LaMontagne, Heart, and for major production companies like Center Staging.

Call us now and keep track of you gear.
